Our Story

Janet’s journey with Yoga began in 2004 when she joined a newly built local gym and decided to try a class. Very quickly she realised the benefits of a regular practice not only physically but also mentally and spiritually. Intrigued to find out more, she signed up for a Foundation Course with The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY). On completion she took the plunge to train as a Yoga Teacher and has been teaching in the Altrincham & Sale areas since 2009. Since then she has trained to become a Foundation Course tutor and is now a Diploma Course Tutor having completed her first Ofqual regulated Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga in 2023 (all with the BWY).

Due to her passion for yoga, Janet also volunteers for the BWY and is currently the Regional Officer for the  North West region as well as holding a position of Regional Officer Representative on the Board of Trustees.

As well as weekly classes in person and online, she runs workshops and retreats throughout the year including themes such as Chakra Balancing, Yoga Nidra and Awakening the Senses. 

Janet discovered Reiki by accident in 2006. She was attending a night school class for the first time and as part of the class introduction got talking to a fellow student who had done reiki training and found it to be very beneficial. Janet took the details of where this lady had trained and made contact. Amazingly, a course was being run the following weekend so she signed up and really hasn’t looked back. She trained in the traditional Usui Reiki taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees before spending a year’s apprenticeship to become a Master/Teacher in 2010.

She runs reiki training in small groups or 1-2-1 and for the first time in 2023  ran a combined Reiki and Yoga retreat where attendees received the 1st degree attunements over a weekend as well as enjoying yoga sessions and relaxation.

In 2023, Janet completed training with The British Academy of Sound (BAST) to become a Group Sound Therapist. This has enabled her to run monthly Soundbaths and Gongbaths. Watch this space for further details…
